With Christmas behind us, you might be looking for ways to celebrate the new year!
New Year’s Eve is the biggest event of the year for countries all over the world. And, because Roomspace has apartments in London, Lisbon, and Madrid, we did some research on events near our apartments to celebrate 2023.
London: Ring in the New Year with events across London city center, including the London Eye fireworks and Natural History Museum’s Jurassic Party. With a large number of locals and tourists expected to visit the city in the coming week, make sure to book ahead of time if necessary!
Madrid: this beautiful city will be hosting one of the main events at La Puerta del Sol, only 15-minutes by public transport from our Sandoval and Goya apartments.
Celebrate New Year’s at the Real Casa de Correos clock tower, similar to Big Ben. Tradition dictates eating 12 grapes while the clock chimes at midnight for good fortune. A rehearsal is available on 30th December for those who can’t make it on New Year’s Day!
All of our apartments in Madrid are near local festivities and conveniently connected to the city center.
Lisbon: Lisbon city center will shine with festive lights and celebrations during the last week of the year. The main event is usually held at Praça do Comércio (Terreiro Do Paco), with fireworks and live music beginning at 10 p.m.
If you want to enjoy the festivities but want to avoid the crowds, there are plenty of restaurants, shopping centres and cruises in each city. Our Lisbon apartments are only minutes from all the festivities, so make sure to book ahead if you’re looking to stay in the area!
